With both Valentine's Day and Family Day, February is the month of love, and we are loving what's going on at the studio! Exam prep for our ballet and tap classes is well underway as exercises are practiced to perfection and technique is mastered. In all our classes, we excitedly await Open House to show all our friends and family how hard we've worked throughout the year.
During our week off for February break this month, some of our Dance Company members had the opportunity to participate in the NUVO Dance Convention in Boston. One highlight from this fun-filled weekend of dance was meeting and learning from renowned choreographers, like Travis Wall. When they weren't dancing, our dance fam saw a performance by the Blue Man Group and a Broadway musical, School of Rock. It was altogether an awesome weekend away for our dancers!
Fun Dance Fact of the Month: Did you know that Travis Wall, runner up of Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance, has been nominated for eight Emmy awards and was awarded three of these? Our dancers were so lucky to get to learn from such an accomplished dancer!
Last Sunday, we were super excited to welcome back Ms. Christine from Luv2Groove for two hip hop workshops. We've had Luv2Groove come dance with us countless times before, and the evening always proves to be upbeat and energetic as we learn funky new choreographies. This year, our junior dancers learned a choreo to Panic At The Disco's "High Hopes" and our seniors grooved away to Ariana Grande's "7 Rings." Check out our senior choreography below!
If you need some motivation in your next class, here's a Danah quote for you: "If you work harder tonight than you ever have in your life, you'll leave class a better dancer." With this attitude, we can't wait to see the amazing progress in all our classes continue as we have fun and grow as dancers and people.
